Thank you for visiting our web site. We very much hope that we will soon be welcoming you to Bella Vista in person.

Please be aware that when you choose to book accommodation with us you are entering into an agreement with BELLA VISTA SWANAGE LLP, our trading partnership. What follows provides you with further information about the nature of this agreement, which we invite you to read before confirming a booking. Like all small businesses we need to respect the many demands of a secular commercial world, but have tried to keep our terms and conditions brief and to the point so that they complement formalised hospitality requirements, while not displacing the universal human values of mutual respect, simple trust and common sense.

Bookings, Prices and Payments

All prices are as advertised with our tariff/room information and on our booking system. They include bed and breakfast.
Bella Vista Swanage LLP is not registered for VAT.
When you book we will ask you for your contact details, intended time of arrival and payment method.
No charges will apply provided you cancel within 60 days of your scheduled arrival date. If you cancel within 60 days a 50% cancellation fee will be charged. If you fail to arrive the full cost of your booking will then become payable.
We accept payment via all major credit and debit cards, as well as by cheque and cash.
In order to enable contactless payment, we process payment in the week before arrival unless you choose to pay on arrival.

Arrival and Departure

We ask you to arrive between 1600 and 2000 and to depart by 1030.
Other timings may be possible by arrangement.

Car Parking

We have free car parking spaces for 6 cars on our forecourt (1 per letting room), which you are welcome to use (at your own risk) during your stay with us.

Dogs

If you plan to bring your dog with you we have 2 dog friendly rooms, one with a sea view and one overlooking the street. We accept a maximum of two dogs per room, subject to notification at the time of booking, and charge an additional fee per dog per night, over and above the listed price for the room. Please do not bring any other pets with you. Please speak to the hosts on arrival for further guidance, including the great local walks and beach availablity (Swanage has lovely sandy beaches). From 1st May to 30th September dogs are not allowed on the beach below Bella Vista but are allowed on the promenade and beaches beyond at all times.

Smoking

We ask that you do not use any smoking or e-smoking device inside the Bella Vista property.

Bella Vista - History

Bella Vista is a deceptively large house with a picturesque garden, overlooking Swanage Bay. Built in 1900, it has had a variety of uses.

From 1900 to 1934 it was known as The Bungalow and was let as apartments. In 1934 it was renamed Bella Vista and operated as a private hotel until 1940 when it was taken over by the army and used to billet troops including, from 1944, US Army soldiers. Bella Vista re-opened as a private hotel in 1954 and since then has been used for a variety of hospitality offerings including bed and breakfast, retreat centre, whole house summer lets and celebrations.

William and Naomi Duffield took over ownership in October 2017 and very much look forward to welcoming guests from January 2018
